The Air Force Office of Scientific Research recently began funding
a new research area that includes a study of blogs.

The reason:
"Blog research may provide information analysts and warfighters with invaluable help in fighting the war on terrorism."
I am clueless how this will be done, but if they are searching for words such as "terrorism", well, this blog is read as well.
It seems to be that the US Government is trying to learn more and more what is communicated. After the NSA issue now a blog issue.
