We previously reported on our
blog about Apple's green North Carolina data center. It turns out that Apple is now building a 4.8 MW fuel cell power plant at the same site in Maiden, NC. It will be the largest such power plant not built by a utility company.
The fuel cells will be made by Bloom Energy, which has also delivered so-called
Bloom Boxes to companies such as Google, Walmart and FedEx.
More on this intriguing story can be found
here.
