Georgia: Voter ID law upheld

Georgia's top court has upheld a state law that requires voters to show photo identification before they cast ballots today on March 7, 2011.

The Georgia Supreme Court's clear decision (it was a 6:1 vote) is the latest court ruling to conclude that the rules are constitutional. The decision found the 2006 law was a "minimal, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory restriction."

What does it mean for you? It was intended to prevent voter fraud, but there was a discussion if anybody had ever tried to vote and this attempt failed and was recorded. Hard to find such person, especially as many forms (such as the famous naturalization form N-400) require a statement "did you ever attempt to vote"?
